When a business owner tells us they have disappeared from local results, the cause is rarely mysterious. In our experience it is almost always one of a short list of structural issues, most of which can be corrected in a single working session.
Verification, suspension and duplicates
An unverified or suspended profile simply will not appear. Neither will a duplicate that has absorbed your reviews while the original sits dormant.
Check for suspension notices, confirm verification status, and search your business name and phone number to find duplicates created by former vendors or aggregators.
Proximity and unrealistic expectations
Many businesses are not missing — they are simply checking from a location outside their realistic ranking radius. Search results vary block by block, and testing from your home three towns over produces misleading conclusions.
A geo-grid rank check shows exactly where you appear and where you drop off, which turns a vague worry into a concrete map.
Weak relevance and stale profiles
Wrong categories, an empty services list, no photos in two years and no reviews in six months all reduce eligibility and prominence together.
Profiles that are actively maintained outperform abandoned ones consistently, and most competitors abandon theirs after the first month.
