Free Google Business Profile Audit
No cost. No obligation. Takes two minutes to request.
Your Google Business Profile decides whether nearby customers find you first or find a competitor instead. We'll go through yours — categories, reviews, citations, and where you actually rank — and tell you exactly what to fix, in plain language, written by a real person.
- Delivered by a person, not a bot
What your free audit actually covers
Everything below is checked and written up by a person who does this for a living — not an automated report you have to interpret alone.
Profile fundamentals check
We go through your categories, services, business description, attributes, and photos against what's actually working for businesses ranking above you right now.
- Primary and secondary category review
- Services list and descriptions
- Business description and attributes
Your top 3 competitors, pulled live
We look up who's actually beating you in the map pack right now — their rating, review count, and what their profile does differently — so you know exactly who you're up against.
- Name, rating, and review count for each
- What their profile does that yours doesn't
- Pulled during your audit, not from a stored database
Review benchmark
Your review count, rating, and pace compared against those same competitors — plus how many of your reviews actually have a response from you.
- Review count and rating vs. competitors
- Review velocity over the last few months
- Reply rate — a commonly missed factor
AI visibility spot-check
We ask a couple of AI assistants directly whether they'd recommend your business for your category and city, the way a customer might ask “who's a good [your trade] near me.”
- Checked using your actual category and city
- A real read, not a guaranteed placement
- Tied to your website and profile content quality
Geo-grid ranking snapshot
Your address isn't the only thing that matters — we check how you rank across several real points in your actual service area, not just the one spot where your pin sits.
- Multiple points across your service area
- Shows where you're winning and losing customers
- The same grid concept our ongoing tracking uses
A plain-language summary and fix list
We put everything into a short written summary — what's holding you back, in what order to fix it, and honestly, what's realistic for your market.
- Written by a person, not auto-generated
- Fixes prioritized by likely impact
- No pressure to sign anything to get it
What is a Google Business Profile audit?
A Google Business Profile audit — sometimes still called a “GMB audit” from back when Google called it Google My Business — is a structured look at every signal Google uses to decide where your business shows up in Maps and the local pack. It checks whether your profile is complete and correctly categorized, how your reviews stack up against competitors, how active the profile looks, and where you actually rank across the area you serve. A good audit doesn't stop at a checklist — it tells you which fix matters most and roughly what it's worth.
Most business owners either skip this entirely or try to do it themselves with a spreadsheet, which takes hours and still misses the geographic ranking piece — you can't tell from your own phone whether you're winning or losing three towns over. Ours is handled for you, by someone who does this full-time.
Is a GBP audit the same as a full local SEO audit?
Not quite. A GBP audit scores the profile itself — categories, services, reviews, replies, photos, and map rankings. A full local SEO audit also looks at your actual website: location pages, site speed, internal linking, and schema markup, plus your citation consistency across other directories. The profile is usually where local businesses find the fastest wins, which is why our free audit focuses there first — citations and website work come up naturally if the audit points that direction.
The ranking factors we look at
| Factor | What we check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Categories & services | Primary/secondary categories, full service list with descriptions | Category choice is one of the strongest local ranking signals |
| Business description | Length, keyword relevance, category and city coverage | Gives Google more to match your profile against |
| Reviews & replies | Count, rating, recent pace, and reply rate | Review signals affect both ranking and click-through |
| Photos & posts | Image count, freshness, and posting frequency | Active profiles tend to earn more views and actions |
| Service area & NAP | Service area setup, and name/address/phone consistency | Inconsistent details quietly suppress visibility |
| Map rankings | Position across a grid of points in your service area | Shows where you win and lose customers beyond your address |
| AI visibility | Whether AI assistants recommend you for your category and city | A growing share of local discovery starts there |
How we talk about profile maturity
We don't hand you an auto-generated score — in your summary, we'll place your profile in one of these rough bands so you know where you stand:
| Stage | What it usually looks like | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | Core fields missing or wrong — Google has little to match you on | Categories, services with descriptions, service area |
| Basics in place | The fundamentals exist but the profile looks inactive next to competitors | Weekly posts, fresh photos, review requests and replies |
| Mostly there | Well set up; ranking gaps are usually geographic or review-driven | Geo-grid gaps, review pace, keyword coverage |
| Well optimized | Strong across the board | Re-audit quarterly, watch competitors, widen your area |
What to fix first
- Fix the fundamentals — correct your primary category, add every service with a real description, rewrite the business description around what customers actually search. See Google Business Profile Optimization.
- Close the review gap — ask consistently and reply to everything. See Google Reviews Management.
- Keep the profile active — regular posts and fresh photos tell Google the listing is maintained, not abandoned.
- Clean up your citations — mismatched details across directories hold back rankings. See Citation Management.
- Re-check the map, not just the pin — re-run the geo-grid snapshot after fixes to see which areas actually improved.
- Hand it off if you'd rather not manage it monthly — that's the ongoing version of what the audit starts.
How often should you audit?
Every 30 to 90 days as a baseline, and again any time something changes — a new service area, a category change, a competitor suddenly jumping ahead of you, or a real drop in calls. Re-running the audit after fixes is the clearest way to see whether anything actually moved.

Free Google Business Profile Audit questions
Is this actually free?
Yes. There's no cost and no obligation to hire us afterward. We do this because it's the clearest way to show you what's actually happening with your visibility, and because most of what we find is genuinely useful whether or not you work with us.
What do I have to connect?
Just your Google Business Profile. After you submit the form we email you a link — clicking it lets you connect the profile you want audited, and that's all we need to get started. You don't need to install software or give us access to your website.
Will I get anything in writing?
Yes — a short written summary of what we covered and what to fix, sent after the audit, regardless of whether you decide to work with us.
Is a GBP audit the same as a full local SEO audit?
No. A GBP audit scores the profile itself — categories, services, reviews, replies, photos, and map rankings. A full local SEO audit also looks at your website and citation profile. This free audit covers the profile side, which is usually where the fastest wins are.
What counts as a good outcome from the audit?
Leaving with two or three specific, prioritized things to fix — not a vague sense that “SEO is important.” If the audit doesn't give you something concrete to act on, we haven't done our job.
Stop guessing where your calls are going.
Request your free Google Business Profile audit. We'll look at your profile, your competitors, and your current visibility together — and tell you the two or three things that would matter most.

- A teardown of the three competitors taking your calls today
- The specific profile, citation, and review gaps holding you back
- A straight answer on what's realistic and what isn't
