A clear score and a prioritized fix list for your website.

We use your details to prepare and discuss your audit. No payment or login required.

No guesswork. No hidden weights.

How the score works

Your website is checked in seven areas: Speed, Mobile, Looks, Words, Conversion, Findability, and Trust & security. Areas that cannot be measured are clearly marked, not awarded a perfect score.

100

Each area starts at 100

Measured checks have fixed deductions. The design score also uses the screenshot review. Your overall score weights the measured areas and highlights the weakest one.

Evidence, not assumptions

If something can’t be measured on a scan — Google’s speed test times out, for example — the report says “not measured” and it costs nothing. A check only fails on evidence.

Real screenshots. Fixed checks.

Looks and Words come from an AI review of your site on a phone and a desktop, graded against the fixed list below.

Your report lists the worst problems first. Each one explains why it matters and how to fix it.

What the Website Grader checks

The checks below focus on your website. Google Business Profile rankings and competitor reviews are separate from this audit.

Speed

How long a visitor waits

  • How fast the main content appears (Google’s Largest Contentful Paint, the biggest single check)
  • Whether the main text shows as soon as it loads, or arrives late
  • Whether scripts freeze the page while it loads
  • Whether the layout jumps around while loading
  • Page weight
  • Old, heavy image formats
  • Text sent uncompressed
  • A slow server

Mobile

Whether it works on a phone

  • Whether the site is built for phones at all
  • Whether pinch-to-zoom is switched off
  • Whether the phone layout is broken (from the screenshots)

Conversion

Whether a ready customer can reach you

  • A contact form that can’t actually send
  • No way to reach the business at all
  • No tap-to-call link
  • No clear next step or call to action
  • A form that asks too much
  • No obvious button on the first screen (from the screenshots)

Findability

Whether Google and AI assistants can find it

  • The page telling Google not to list it
  • robots.txt blocking every search engine
  • AI assistants (ChatGPT, Google’s AI and others) locked out
  • Content that only appears after JavaScript runs, so search engines may see a blank page
  • A homepage with almost nothing to read
  • Page title missing or badly sized
  • Search description missing or badly sized
  • No main heading (H1)
  • No structured data
  • No sitemap, no robots.txt, no canonical address
  • Links that look bare when shared on social media
  • Inner pages missing the basics

Trust & security

The basics, and signs someone still looks after the place

  • No HTTPS, or the insecure http version still working
  • One version of the address (with or without www) broken
  • Insecure files on a secure page
  • Missing browser security settings
  • The server advertising its software version
  • Missing pages pretending to exist instead of showing a real ‘not found’
  • Google’s accessibility audit: text too faint to read, images with no descriptions, form fields with no labels, links with no name, and no page language declared
  • A copyright year that makes the footer look abandoned
  • Placeholder text left on the live site
  • Outdated HTML, and no doctype or character set
  • No favicon
  • Built on a rented platform (noted on the report, no points taken)

Looks

The AI review of real screenshots

  • No clear headline up top
  • Cramped and cluttered
  • A dated design
  • Photos that let it down
  • Things that overlap or are cut off
  • A site that looks unfinished
  • Text that’s hard to read

Words

Whether the message is clear and convincing

  • Never says what the business does
  • Doesn’t say where or for whom
  • A headline that’s a slogan instead of a statement
  • Headings that could belong to anyone
  • No proof in the words
  • Typos and slips
