Citation packages are usually sold by volume because volume is easy to demonstrate. Relevance is harder to sell and considerably more effective.
Relevance outranks quantity
A listing on your state licensing board, your trade association and your chamber of commerce does more for a contractor than fifty generic global directories.
The test is simple: would a real customer plausibly find you there? If not, the listing is unlikely to influence anything.
Match your competitors, then differentiate
Audit where your top-ranking competitors appear. That set defines the baseline for your market. Meet it, then add the niche and hyperlocal sources they missed.
Maintenance is the real work
Citations decay. Directories get acquired, data reverts and duplicates reappear. A maintained set of thirty beats an abandoned set of three hundred.
