A growing share of local discovery now happens through AI assistants that read the web, synthesize an answer, and recommend two or three businesses. You do not optimize for that with keyword density. You optimize by being unambiguous.
Structure is how machines read you
Clear headings, direct answers near the top of a page, consistent business data and valid structured markup all make your content easier to extract accurately.
Pages that bury the answer under three paragraphs of throat-clearing get skipped in favor of ones that answer immediately.
Specificity gets cited
Assistants favor content with concrete detail: actual price ranges, actual timelines, actual process steps, actual service areas. Vague marketing language provides nothing to summarize.
This is also why genuinely local content wins — there is no generic source to cite for how permits work in a specific borough.
Consistency across the web still decides trust
Assistants cross-reference the same sources search engines do. Conflicting hours, addresses or service claims reduce the odds you are recommended at all.
